Partner Talks - Bobby Nielsen, CTO and co-founder of Wired Relations

On a bright March day in Bucharest, we had the pleasure of welcoming Bobby Nielsen, CTO and co-founder of Wired Relations (www.wiredrelations.com)

Founded in 2017 in Copenhagen, Wired Relations set out to transform how compliance professionals manage privacy and information security—moving beyond fragile spreadsheets and point solutions to enable sustainable, scalable GRC (Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance) programs.

As Wired Relations continues to grow its presence, it’s a great time to reflect on its journey, challenges, and the strategic partnerships that have supported its success.

   1. Tell us a little about your journey with Wired Relations and what we should expect for the near future?

I founded Wired Relations together with Anders and Gilli because we saw a clear need: businesses needed a better way to work with compliance. From day one, our focus has been to provide a solution that’s intuitive and gives users the structure, overview, and control they need—something that’s proven essential for our customers.

Looking ahead, our customers can expect a platform that doesn’t just support their work, but actively assists them—offering intelligent guidance to manage and improve their information security controls.

    2. New privacy and security laws and frameworks constantly surface. How does Wired Relations stay ahead of these changes and ensure that its platform remains adaptable and compliant?

Wired Relations is built to adapt. From the beginning, we designed the platform to be flexible—not tied to any single regulation or framework. That allows us to quickly respond to changes in the regulatory landscape and implement updates that support new requirements.
Our team stays close to developments in privacy, security, and GRC, and we work with both experts and customers to turn those changes into practical solutions in the platform. This means our customers don’t have to worry about chasing every new requirement—we take care of that.
By doing so, we help them build sustainable compliance programs that can grow and evolve over time, rather than starting from scratch every time the rules change.

   3. Wired Relations welcomed its first clients in 2019, and the customer base is still growing. What strategies has the company employed to ensure customer satisfaction and retention?

It starts with listening. We work closely with our customers to understand their goals and challenges. That feedback directly influences our roadmap. We've also focused a lot on ease of use—our customers are often busy compliance professionals who need a tool that works with them, not against them. On top of that, we aim to provide a human, responsive support experience that builds long-term trust.

   4. How important is collaboration and user-centric design to Wired Relations and what steps do you take to ensure that?

It’s core to how we build. We see our product as a collaborative tool—not just for individual users but for entire teams working across privacy, security, and risk. We involve users early in the design process and continuously validate features with real feedback. And internally, our product and engineering teams are in constant dialogue with customer relations to make sure we’re aligned with what users actually need.

   5. You currently have a team in Romania, how do you find managing a team from different time zone and culture?

Honestly, it's been a great experience. We’ve found that with clear communication, shared values, and mutual respect, collaboration flows naturally—even across time zones. Our colleagues in Romania bring a lot of expertise and energy to the table, and we make it a priority to stay connected as one unified team

   6. What would you say to anyone looking to join Wired Relations?

At Wired Relations, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to building and evolving a strong SaaS product—one that addresses a market where data protection and information security have never been more relevant. If you’re excited about working on a single, focused product with high impact, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where your ideas actively shape its development, this is the place for you. We value curiosity, openness, and the drive to continuously improve.

   7. Any message for the team here in Romania?

A big thank you. You’ve become an essential part of our journey. We’re grateful for the dedication, creativity, and commitment you bring every day—and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow and build together.

  8. GENOS and Wired Relations have been partners since 2020, how would you describe this partnership in a few words?

Reliable, collaborative, and forward-looking. GENOS has played an important role in helping us scale our Product & Engineering team while maintaining the quality and values that matter to us.

  9. As a closing, would you like to share some words for GENOS and our team here in Romania?

Just a heartfelt thank you. Your partnership has been instrumental in our success so far. We truly see you as an extension of our team, and we’re excited about everything we’ll achieve together in the future.
